Cat Cat (Vic) / Ghastly Spats / Day Ravies 09.12.11

Friday 9th December // 7pm
CAT CAT (Melb / LP Launch) + GHASTLY SPATS + DAY RAVIES

"So vibed on this new Cat Cat single; it goes heavy on that total 90s trick of matching a melancholic tone with propulsive rhythm guitars & drums for a sound that's kinda gauzy & wistful but perfect for booze-fuelled teenage adventures"

After The Fall (USA) / Anchors (Vic) & more 20.11.11

Sunday 20th November // 3pm
AFTER THE FALL (USA) + ANCHORS (Melb) + MARY JANE KELLY + FIREARMS

"Blood Sweat & Beers in conjunction with Sludgefactory.com.au are proud to present...Albany New York’s After The Fall.
Established in 2003, After The Fall play melodic hardcore in the vein of Bad Religion, Paint It Black, NOFX, Propaghandi and Kill Your Idols. After criss crossing the USA many times ATF topped off 2010 with a tour of Central America with Millencolin and A Wilhelm Scream before hitting Europe and tidying the end of this year up with their inaugural Australian tour covering the East Coast of Australia.
Joining them on all dates, fresh off the boat from a Japanese tour will be Melbourne’s sweatiest dudes Anchors. These guys have already played Soundwave, Poison City Weekender, BS&B #5 and Pushover this year so it’ll be nice to have them and their fresh new vinyl ‘Bad JuJu’ in a real venue again"

Rites Wild (S.A) / Black Vanilla / Pimmon 4.11.11

Friday 4th November // 7pm // $10
New Weird Australia Presents:
RITES WILD (S.A / Tape Launch) + BLACK VANILLA + PIMMON

RITES WILD
"Rites Wild is the solo project of Adelaidean S. Wilson. While her previous solo endeavors have been predominately noise and percussion-based, Rites Wild sees Wilson exploring her doom-pop sensibilities with the aid of 80's analogue keyboards, monotone vocals and semi-functioning pawn shop pedals.
"sits nicely alongside Maria Minerva, Fabulous Diamonds and Nite Jewel… Rites Wild cloaks ritualistic minimalism in foggy casio drones, stony delivery, and lush synth delays" - Altered Zones"

BLACK VANILLA
(with members of Guerre, Collarbones and Marseilles)
"Black Vanilla is the brainchild of gender-bending beatmaker Romeo aka Juliet, convicted ladykiller Extra Smooth aka The Sex and slutty ho-bag Sean Lockhart, creating the most reprehensible R'n'B boyband supergroup of the 21st century. Borrowing from only the sleaziest and most disgusting 90s R'n'B reference points Black Vanilla will get you wet in the whitest possible fashion."

PIMMON
"Over the past decade and a half, Australia’s electronic godfather Pimmon (known to friends as Paul Gough) has carved out a unique space for himself through producing a series of masterfully executed excursions into abstract electronic sound. His new release The Oansome Orbit is out this month on Room40."
